The Duel Commander Committee is looking for a volunteer Community Manager to animate and develop its presence on Bluesky, Facebook, and Reddit.

  • A player involved in the Duel Commander community, with strong knowledge of the format and its stakes
  • Someone autonomous in creating content adapted to each social network
  • An ability to animate and bring a community to life on a regular basis

Status: Volunteer position Reports to: Communication Manager Team: Duel Commander Committee
📖 Context

The Duel Commander Committee is in charge of managing and regulating the Duel Commander format. Our community is international and active, requiring regular and engaging presence on social media to inform, unite, and animate players.

🎯 Main Mission

Animate and develop the Duel Commander Committee's presence on social networks Bluesky, Facebook, and Reddit, ensuring regular, engaging communication adapted to our international community.

💼 Responsibilities

Communication and community animation:

  • Publish regular content on Bluesky, Facebook, and Reddit (announcements, discussions, format news)
  • Adapt the tone and format of publications to each platform
  • Answer community questions and moderate discussions
  • Create engagement (polls, metagame discussions, event coverage)
  • Relay official committee announcements (banlist changes, rule modifications, news)

Content creation:

  • Write posts in English, and in other languages when possible depending on audiences
  • Produce original content to animate the community between official announcements
  • Monitor trends in the format and topics of interest

Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the communication manager to align editorial strategy
  • Participate in communication meetings if necessary
  • Report community feedback and concerns to the committee
✅ Desired Profile

Essential skills:

  • Fluent in English (oral and written), another language being an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of the Duel Commander format and its specificities
  • Active involvement in the Magic: The Gathering community
  • Autonomy in content creation and management
  • Writing skills and communication sense
  • Understanding of social media codes and practices (Bluesky, Facebook, Reddit)
  • Regular availability to ensure continuous presence

Appreciated skills:

  • Experience in community management or digital communication
  • Graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Knowledge of publication scheduling tools
  • Experience in online community moderation
  • Knowledge of competitive play and tournament circuits
